If you can bring yourself to reflect on the fact that some of the best csg wells take 5 years to come off

I don't think that is an accurate statement. Some CSG wells may take years to peak but any CSG project that takes 5 years to dewater before the onset of gas production is not going to be a success. Certainly it's not "some of the best CSG wells." It would be a pretty rank awful CSG well that took 5 years to make gas.

The problem here is shielding. If these wells were properly shielded they would be dewatering fine. But you can see in the diagram of the dewatering ellipses on the last page of the presentation that even now none of these wells are properly shielded. Even K1, which has 3 wells around it, is still open to recharge on two sides.
