The NT ALP are complete morons on this.
The reason they are in power is that Giles was very unpopular from the get-go. Mainly because of his midnight coup to gain power from Terry Mills int he first place. Noone voted Giles in and noone forgave him for the coup and the way it was carried out.
Probably only 5% of Territorians at the most would support the ban on gas exploration and probably none of that 5% have any actual scientific understanding of the issues.
