Why so much panic? @Aussie_Boy already answered the question. This happens every three months on index rebalances. It would be related to whatever the commodity index (forget the actual name) we are a part of. Go and check the course of sales for basically any ASX listed gold stock (that isn't a micro cap) and you will see the same thing. Nothing to do with news or shorts or anything even exciting. Literally managers shuffling their shares.
