Alright, 'insults' aside I will take you seriously.

    In response :

    1. Galaxy are currently receiving $600+ for 5.5% spodumene. We already know that the formula PLS have secured with GLC is considered high. If battery manufacturers are really scrambling to lock in supply contracts like everyone not sitting behind a desk is suggesting I have not doubt they could get prepayments at $600. The real risk will be that it is short changing ourselves.

    2. This just shows your lack of understating of the disruption that is truly occurring here. You see double the energy density and think 'we will need half as much lithium'. I see double the energy density and think 'that doubles the available range'. So instead of halving lithium needs by increasing energy density you would really just be increasing the available range. This in turn will make EV's more attractive and actually increase consumer demand. So no 500kt is not accurate but you are welcome to your opinion. I just think it is very wrong.

3, Of course it is predictions. So is all investing. That is how the game works. However you say in one breath that you can't base things on the current standard re energy density because of all the money going into R&D yet at the same time you assume everyone in the world is going to be buying $180k Tesla's. What about all the other manufacturers. What about improvements in production efficiencies, economies of scale, development improvements and so on that will drive the price of an EV down? You do see the irony in that right? And are you really going to base demand potential on Australian's. We are a backwards country in that respect from the government down. Instead of subsidising EV's we charge a luxury car tax. We will never, I repeat never, be representative of global demand.

    4. Again you choose to look at the negative. If you really believe in the new energy revolution then the grid issues etc should speak volumes in the need for renewable sources and off-grid storage. Doesn't matter if your preference for that is lithium or VRB's. It is still a whole other industry that will be driven by it.

Who said it is easy? Take a step outside HC and talk to all those people who don't know about lithium and you will realise how early in the game we still are. Just because PLS has an active and vocal supporter base on HC makes it seem like a darling or that it is too good to be true. But the average punter probably doesn't even know who PLS is yet. It is a matter of perspective.
