The discussion is about the replacement of paper! If you order your food by mail, the company should provide a reply paid envelope.

And of course, by going digital communications you should see greater returns as a share holder (in theory at least) because they aren't paying to send out paper bills............therefore making the company more money it can pass onto you as savings.

As an example, replacement of the annual report by going digital. If a shareholder who has small holding, chooses to become environmentally friendly. Who will gain the most for his environmental sacrifice even when the cost factor of the annual report is the same for the small holder and a larger shareholder.

On top of that, the management team will be getting an extra reward for your environmental sacrifice on top of the STI's and LTI's.

The modern term of 'Cloud computing' is actually and old concept that Telecom Australia tried to introduce to the business community and Govt departments in the late 70's. Unfortunately the managers at that time couldn't look ahead and see the cost savings and benefits. The only changes has been from transistors to surface mounted devices etc.

If you recall my basic algorithm their still is a cost factor to the individual by using the Internet. The only difference is business bears most of the digital cost as in the yesteryear.

I have difficulty in understanding how individuals are prepared to accept historically a business expenses. Yet the business community are scraping for fractional cent savings where ever they can.

All I can assume is most of the respondents run a business and/or just are indifferent and write it off on their tax returns.
