re: the biggest challenge facing cmr Have to agree with all of that. While many I am sure would be happy to take $11ps under Oly's scenario of a "cheap" takeover bid, those who hold for reasons of long term wealth creation through a franked dividend structure, must be quaking in their boots at such an unthinkable takeover price.
We need some solid announcements to get that SP up in order to make the thought of a takeover just a little bit harder. My motives for wanting a higher sp have nothing to do with quick profits, but they would co-incide with the motives of those who do.
Either way, it's not often that long term holders and short term profit takers want the same outcome. Preservation has to be the first priority. Unless GT and co. have other tricks up their collective sleeves, a rise in the sp to more realistic levels is one sure way to prolong preservation.
HCites have also suggested a better PR system is a means to achieve this, but better PR with no rise in SP will make it even easier for the aliens to line us up in their radar screens. It's got to be a combined and co-ordinated strategy.
Agree with you Cuz, GT you got your ears on???
