page 35 of their december report by the geo states:-
The acreage lies in the northern
part of the prolific Paradox Basin
and contains essentially the same
prospective sedimentary section
that has produced over 500 million
barrels of oil and 1.2 trillion cubic
feet (TCF) of gas. It lies on a
producing trend that extends from
the large Aneth Field to the south
to the Greater Cisco Field to the
north.
the next note states:-
The Golden Eagle prospect is a
large undrilled Pennsylvanian
shelf-edge/basement structure
with the potential to produce more
than 3 TCF (trillion cubic feet of
gas equivalent) and is expected to
be drilled to a total depth of 4,450
metres in the first half of 2006.
there is a difference here. to what then is the first bullet point referring? i take it to mean the whole paradox basin.
then the next bullet point makes mention that the golden eagle prospect itself has the potential of 3tcf.
so the figures being discussed seem to be a bit rubbery.
just trying to get a better understanding of whats going on.
