If you had read any literature about climate change, you would realise how wrong that comment is.
Here's a simple fact: the hotter the air gets, the more water vapour it can hold. So as CO2 insulates the earth and makes it hotter, the air will hold more water vapour, which in turn increases the greenhouse effect, warming the air even further and so on*.
We are heading onto a future where it won't just be uncomfortably hot, but it will be extraordinarily humid as well.

*If you are interested at all, try reading up on "feedback loops" in relation to global warming.

Yes you are right on the second bit, however, the rate of change to the earths climate is currently exponential. Never before, in recorded geological time has our climate changed so much, so fast, and we don't know where it will end. All we do know, is that there is a good chance it will mean major,  significant (and probably not very pleasant) changes to normal life on earth. By all accounts too, we ain't seen nothing yet, because humans continue to burn fossil fuels at an exponentially increasing rate.

You lose the argument by referencing Hitler. But seriously, DDT did save lives in the 40s, 50s and 60s but by the 70s (when it was banned) most targeted insects (eg mosquitoes) had become resistant to DDT. By that stage, DDT was killing more innocent wildlife than it was malarial mosquitoes.
