Fair enough, but protectionism is very real. I won't get into the effects or whether this is good or not, but I do think that its good to understand the agendas at play. Cybersecurity seems to be an issue at various times in the news cycle, and then dies out just to resurface later usually during an election year (within the US) as fear tactics to sway public sentiment. The reality, though, is that its really hard to assess what's actually going on since most information is restricted to the highest levels of government.

As for the Chinese, they are smart to capitalise on the SQM stake, and I wouldn't be surprised if CORFO have met with the Chinese prior to these events to come to an arrangement of how the money will be distributed since the government will definitely want its cut. It is interesting that there is a Pampa representative on the Argentina commission as they are being forced to sell their stake from SQM. However, Galaxy also is on the commission as a VP as well as Pampa, while Orocobre is just a member. It seems that both our company and Pampa want significant influence within this bilateral commission, why? I am not entirely sure, but the cards will be slowly revealed.
