bhp rio apg There has been a couple of emails sent to me regarding the Rio HiSmelt technology recently developed.
Without being technical it is difficult to full understand the applications and how the processes work.
As I have said earlier the APG DRI technology is one that is very different to the HiSmelt technology still being developed.
HiSmelt started 15 years ago and grew out of Isasmelt and Ausmelt. It essentially is a method for smelting molton steel.
The APG DRI turns takes direct Iron Oxide into Iron WITHOUT the molton phase.
MMM...Think of the enery savings not to mention less material wastage.
Huge savings to a multy billion dollar industry.
No wonder BHP blew $3.7b trying to do it.
