We all have different ways of looking at things. I do get more grumpier as I used to see all this from the other side. I've never been a..."I hope the big boys figure it out" investor.

When I was younger I worked at the brokerage firm it was my job to call the companies and get info...sometimes just hearing the CEO tone on certain words was enough. Classic Peter Lynch...my investor god.

I also had no problem giving management my thoughts in a conference call or on the phone directly. We knew what the market wanted and needed. They wanted to built their density. I could give a rats about their hopes and dreams. I wanted the stock to go up.

There was this one NASDAQ stock. It was a 5 bagger and growing their EPS 50+% for 5 years. I had no idea how they were doing it...they were a burger chain. 54% family controled so they could do anything they wanted.

I was reading the 10k and saw they had 12 VPs most with the same last name making 200k+. (CEO Dad was on 800k!) The company was only making 3M in profit so I suggested if the family wanted to double the SP...they should all take pay cuts of 50%. Those funds would dramatically increase the already decent pro-margins.

He lost his mind. He went on about how successful they were and they were in 25 states and bla, bla. I said that's great but, if they take the pay cut the MC goes up 20-35% more and that would mean a extra 15M-25M for the family. A no brainier.

He said they knew what THEY were doing...I said... no you don't. Then we both lost it and started swearing at each other. About 50 of my co-workers heard the whole conversation. I didn't have the heart to tell him I wasn't even a shareholder. 8-/

About 2 months later the company did a cost cutting program and 4 family VPs left and there was big pay cuts. The stock exploded and became one the most successful stocks of the 90's. About a 50 bagger I believe.

My point...management aren't perfect...how they do things isn't always right. There's no harm in giving your opinion...especially if you own a bunch of shares. Actually it's your job to a degree. How many stock disaster in the last 30 years would have been prevented is shareholders asked a few questions.

Why I'm Jerko's biggest fan?...He told me... I think in our first chat that he didn't know all the answers. He had me at "know" . With that humble mindset and his mining smarts...AGY is going to be a bagger.
