VT and Prophet
Indeed I do attempt to offset my long funds with futures.
When markets are decidedly bearish I take 50% more short futures positions than when long. This is not at every bear indication, but when it appears as a prolonged move.
Markets are a 3 legged stool. One leg is always bullish. So one needs to see 2 legs bearish to be short.
I am talking investment here not speculation.
For me speculation is Ferrari money and investment is comfort money.
Each to their own.
