Too late even for that, Delta. The "start again" bit, I mean. Soon, all the Christians and "Good guys" will be killed off in that poxy bloodbath that Syria has become, and only the extremist cannibal types will remain. And it will take multiple "big ones" to sort them.
I cant help feeling that the world would be a better place right now if the West had just stayed out of the Middle East and let the brutal dictators hold the warring peasants in line.
Brutality can be good if applied correctly.
Look at the state of crime, law and order in our own country today..... and think back how 50/60 years back the cops could brutally cure potential crims in their teens....never to offend again, in most cases..... using telephone books, the old rubber hose, or just the bare knuckle..... without arrest, and thus sparing the offender from having a criminal record. By Geez it worked well.
A bit off topic there, but a valid comparison, I feel.
