It matters not who the contract is with it's whether it meets the criteria fot it be binding. Friends and family take each other to court all the time for breaching contracts. Im not sure why you differentiate between friends vs untrusted parties. The whole point of entering into contracts is to legally hold parties to the agreement. If one party breaches the contract then compensation may be awareded. If friends are so trust worthy a contract wouldn't be required. Your differentation between the two makes no sense .
