I have to agree that building up a sizeable stake on market would be difficult, maybe even impossible. But to get to say just below the substantial holder level of 5% of the company you would need somewhere around 5-7m shares which might be gained over a month or two at a few hundred thousand a day.

I don't know who has been doing the buying recently but there was an earlier spike of a few million, a drop then this current spike of a few more million. It's possible that someone has now put together a couple of million and is well on the way to building a stake. All purely speculation of course.

One of the reasons that I feel these spikes are not directly a result of insiders buying up on an imminent annoucement of a farmin is that I'm close to being an insider and I can't get anything out of the company - rightly so of course. I have been told simply that the company does not intend to announce anything about the farmin (ie details of who has bid etc) until a deal is signed and delivered. I think that will happen before the end of the year but more likely later rather than sooner. I think that John is out of the country at the moment somewhere in Asia, and has been spotted in Singapore.
