Although quite low key and short in content, today's announcement regarding the patent application for metal powder production is significant. As I have stated previously, powder sales will eventually be a larger revenue contributor for A3D than printer sales. One large format printer will be capable of printing 1000 kgs of metal per day. That will require 365 tonnes of metal powder per annum per printer. At $8000 per tonne for stainless steel powder, that equates to $3M per annum in powder sales revenue per printer. The figures will be much higher for titanium powder. You can do your own numbers on multiple LFPs across multiple metals.
