Capitalised expenditure does not receive the same treatment as normal expenses

MBE has capitalised nearly $3m in FY 2016 of which wages for expansion was a large component

Capitalised expenses are treated as an asset and not expensed fully - similar to assets which are depreciated over years

This results as was stated yesterday in a post in a higher NPAT

Its a form of creative accounting used by many companies that allows profits to seem higher then they really are

it is not creative ..they are accounting standards that are adopted and deployed by all corporations not just MBE...
