re: metals up ok, answered my own question...
for every 1c drop in usd vs aud, subtract $60m from bhp net after tax profit
for every is usd 1c/lb rise in copper price add $20 million profit
for every usd 1c/lb rise in nickel add $2m to bhp profit
In short, everything else being equal, copper has to rise 3c/lb usd to compensate for a 1c rise in aussie dollar.
