No, I'm not exaggerating, many of the religious posters here only mention their faith on rare occasions, probably wary of being branded kooks.

I've never been a goldbug, I'm far too rational to believe that a piece of metal that may have once been money is going to be money again because the world economic system is going to melt down, it's nothing more than airy-fairy science fiction. Goldbuggery is a cult.

I've never lost money on gold, the most expensive piece of gold I've ever bought is my wife's gold Omega Constellation with diamonds. That idea has been floated many times that I'm an embittered goldbug, but it isn't true, I won't be buying any Disney Dumbos from the Perth Mint.

Goldbugs have their favourite 'psychics' that they rely on for future predictions of the gold price, once they mention them I can then prove quite easily in most cases that they have made catastrophically wrong predictions in the past.

I do have a bet against gold though, quite a big one.
