I don't agree. Van Eck is just a goldbug ETF, they don't care about long term, don't even care about whether BDR will go to 0.01. It is there job to buy gold miners. It's their product. People buy units of GDX - they buy more BDR and others. People sell/shortsell GDX, they sell BDR. They will win in any case - they charge small fee for that.
HHL cares a little bit, but still, they are not risking their capital. They are risking other people's capital.
