Pretty sure there is no CVM in the RAAF's P8s, as built. But they'll certainly be needing the retrofit given the high stress loads and corrosive environment these airframes will see in service. [Salt water spray is corrosive to aluminium].
From an operational perspective, you could hardly come up with anything worse for your airframe than a twin-engined jet for the low altitude, long loitering, maritime SAR and anti-submarine mission. The P21, a further upgrade of the P3 Orion proposed by Lockheed, would have been a far better choice but was not selected by the USN, so therefore hasn't been built. [Nothing against Boeings, they are good aircraft. Just not for this role].
Stubby, good sentiment there, but before you start drawing down for your retirement, don't forget to consider all the gross revenue that will be subtracted by other parties. And don't forget to subtract outgoing expenses, wages, taxation... all that boring stuff. Earnings, as in P/E ratio, is not revenue.
