Yes true but you still cannot spend more than the balance in your trading and money market allows?
I am speaking of the good old days when your broker would buy anything for you without question and it was up to you to come up with the cash or sell the position before settlement was due. As you are probably aware many got burned this way in the 2000 tech crash, bought shares never intending to own them or pay for them and got caught holding a bunch of highly depreciated dogs after the tech bubble went supernova.
