I know this but why make it sound like you had contacted with Queensland Uranium when you cant. MKY will do just fine without twisting things. All will come together when the geoligist starts his work in Queensland in three weeks time. Sit back and enjoy the ride as possibly another small Uranium company eventually is taken over by an overseas company. Mega love Queensland by the looks.
In January 2005, Mega entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the outstanding common shares of Uranium Minerals Ventures Inc. (“UMVI”), whose principal asset was an option to acquire from Afmeco Mining and Exploration Pty. Ltd (a COGEMA subsidiary) a 100% interest in the Ben Lomond uranium-molybdenum deposit located in North Queensland, Australia, for AUD$1 million, subject to a royalty payment of AUD$0.50 per pound of U3O8 recovered up to the date that is 30 days after a mill operates at 90% planned capacity, and a 1% NSR thereafter. Title to the property is contained within two Mining Leases, ML 1399 (128 hectares) and ML 1419 (2035 hectares), which were both renewed for a further period of 10 years commencing December 1 2004. In February 2006, following the transfer of both MLs from Afmeco to UMVI, Mega completed the acquisition of UMVI.
The Ben Lomond deposit was discovered in 1975 by the French company Pechiney, then explored and evaluated in detail in 1976-1982 by the associated companies Total Mining and Minatome. Following the completion of a Bankable Feasibility Study in 1982, an Environmental Impact Study was accepted by the relevant Federal and State authorities in 1984, but in 1985 the planned development was halted by the imposition of the “Three Uranium Mines Policy” by the then Australian Federal Labour Government.
The deposit comprises an east-west trending steeply dipping (75º) vein system within Carboniferous volcanic rocks immediately underlying an unconformity with younger volcanics. The delineated resource has a dip length of 90-120m and strike length of 750m.
In 1976-1982 a total of over 65000 metres of surface drilling was undertaken on the property in testing and evaluating the Ben Lomond deposit and surrounding prospects. In addition, the deposit was investigated in detail in underground work, comprising an adit, decline, haulageway, drilling at 25m centres along strike, and bulk sampling.
The evaluation work culminated in the delineation of a 43-101 compliant resource by the Australian Atomic Energy Commission of 10.7 million pounds contained U3O8 in the Indicated and Inferred Resource categories as follows.
