Howdy,
Our discussions were about the comforter, I gave you a few verses, you made no comment but instead jump to another topic, I am happy to look at these, but one subject at a time.
Look at it this way - You and I believe in God and he has a Son, so there is common ground. I certainly don't wont to lead anyone astray, myself is OK, but I couldn't handle leading someone else, I assume you are the same. So this means, we both seek truth, stay on track and work through one point at a time, who knows, we may both learn something.
If you did as I said and read for "yourself" instead of pulling on others or what has been set in your mind, YOU will see truth.
Have a better look in John and you will see, Christ became the light of the world, meaning he wasn't that true light until, just like the following in John also; 5:26 For as the Father (God) hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself, meaning he once didn't have life in himself.
We will back up a little and see what God says;
Isa 42:5-6 Thus said God the Lord, he that created the heavens and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it and spirit to them that walk therein; I the Lord have called thee in righteousness and will hold thine hand and will keep thee and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles. (Notice how it is "The God" who gives breath to ALL life, not talking eternal life here ATM) "Give thee" - meaning he wasn't at that time, twas after he come flesh.
Acts 26:23 That Christ should suffer and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead and should shew light unto the people and to the Gentiles. So he become the light while here and because of what he was going to do for us.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, .......................... He has come, so he once wasn't, although God planed him to be. So God is the true light.
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you, that God is light (The God as in singular) and in him is no darkness at all.
John 12:46 (Jesus) I am come a light into the world, that whoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. So again, he once wasn't.
If you look in Rev 21:23 You will see God's light (not "a" light) lightens the City and the Son is the light thereof.
Pay close attention to the verses just above here, God is Light and Jesus come "a" light = Jesus Not the true light you refer to in John 1:9 as that is God and it is The God that gives the breath of live to ALL. Jesus does his God and Fathers will.
I have many verses that align to John 1:1-13 which clearly support that these verses are with reference to The God and not Christ. Christ ONLY comes into the picture at 1:14 as God said he would. But that is quite a huge area as you have to get back into creation to see WHO is the creator and who is the Holy Spirit first and then the light shines on who The Word is.
So as far as I'm concerned, if your at all interested, we need to finish the subject of the comforter.
IMO, when someone avoids a point one makes, in other words doesn't answer, it's like being at a gathering having a chat, and the other person mid way, turns their back and walks off ha.
If I put something up and you have no answer = so what, that's OK. I may not be able to answer some points you make?
Anyway, seek truth and you shall find, but there is a process in seeking it. Over to you ha
