re: commodities bull run chip goodyear bhpb Yeah - Chip Goodyear of BHP B says stronger for longer for mining and he clearly stated this week was the 1st time he has used this statement.

CEO of BHP Billiton, Chip Goodyear this week gave a rare public presentation as part of the 2006 Bourse Talk Series in Brisbane.

Chip presented his views on "Key challenges for the Resources Industry" and of particular interest were his views on the outlook for export demand from China, driving the current commodities boom.

Chip identified that the dynamics of the global resources industry are changing as other emerging economies such as India are beginning to follow China's lead.

Demographics and economic development could continue for years as a better quality of life is increasingly visible to these populations.

This will require significant new mine capacity and has the potential to sustain current commodity price strength over the medium term. Chip noted that he was using the term "stronger for longer" for the first time.

    Looks good to me ............
