Rochford Thompson is delighted to supply its RTE8000 e-MRTD scanner for use in both the enrolment and check-in processes of the SPT trial. During enrolment the scanners will read the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of the applicant's passport as well as capturing a full colour image of the biodata page. At the check-in kiosk the scanner will be used to identify the traveller by reading the passport MRZ and will again capture an image of the document. Additional scanner features include UV, IR and visible light sources and an integral RF antenna for reading the contactless chips in e-Passports and e-ID cards.
