Bin Laden is not a peacful man but i do not remember seeing anywhere that he wants to control the world muslims controlling muslim countries under muslim law yes the world no.
And those involved in the "Revolutionary War". were also not peacful men. It was not called a war because it had a nice sound to the name. It was a war, a war against those that controled and ruled the country at the time, a war to gain the right to self rule and independance from the Brittish.
A war that was based on the same ideals and similar to the IRA's fight, the Palestinians and many other conflicts todady being fought by groups the US now terms terrorists.
I am not defending the actions of any terrorist group I just find it a little hypocritical when a country that was born out off what were acts of terrorism now uses the same actions a a reason for waging war.
