I rarely (never) have heard of a successful trader who trades seriously and successfully based on depth...might reflect liquidity if anything. Time series analysis are more reliable at picking trends and momentum, and trade volume are a better indicators of smart money (big guys as you put it) entering and exiting. I honestly can't understand any of your logic, but if it works for you consistently then good on you.
