The slow recovery indicates time taken to pull out the drill pipes & part of the Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA).
Common industry practice is to :
* Lay down majority of the drill pipes &/or part of the BHA. (looking back 200'/day is what they probably meant)
* Set up an explosive to shear off rest of BHA in the cement
* Run in with the mill bit & start grinding the metal left behind.
* Cement the junk in hole & open a window in 7" casing to sidetrack.
All of this would take 2-3 weeks. On a positive note the well does indeed look.
Call this operational stuff up of the umpteenth order indeed (adds to the cost of rig onsite, logging & cement crew, considering the spud date was 23rd May 2006).
