    Well the point isn't to say that a bottom drawer gem doesn't eventually shine into a diamond i.e. as XPE might, but the general thinking that all losses are not loses until realized. Eventually you'll have 9/10 of these so called 'unrealised' losses sit there, and they hardly ever, ever make a comeback - and in the long run you'll lose more money than you gain (unless you strike a big 100 bagger on the one that does come true haha).

    Just general food for thought - I think the thinking is prevalent In property too where if you haven't sold you haven't lost. Arguably if something I had was worth 1/100th of what I paid for it in the open market, then that's a real loss. I mean after all, no one is going to pay you more for that item, stock, property, that's what it's worth at the moment.
