I can't remember which mine it is, but about 100km inland from us is a company that just (about 6-8 weeks now) received permission to dewater their mine at the rate of 100l/s. That is how much water was pouring into their mine from the ground.

That basically tells you what the water problems are in the Pilbara, TOO MUCH WATER.
Apart from the areas that are very rocky, there is massive areas of sand plain/dune areas. That equates to huge areas of intake when it rains. Despite the desert like appearance, when those cyclones come inland they drop 20" plus of water over vast areas. The rivers flood but massive amounts of water go deep into the ground totally refilling the aquifers.

In answer to Mustpow's constant questioning about problems with the pastoralist, the one that own the lease on our land has an Earth Moving business of some type I've been told. I have a great suspicion that dealing with him will not be a problem at all!!!

The only water problem we are ever likely to have is too much of the stuff!!
I suppose I've now given certain downrampers another thing to hit us with, TOO MUCH WATER. We are going to be constantly flooded etc etc.
