There are pro's and con's of such beahaviour.

Run of the mill stuff, yeah, sell your soul and pay the ferryman at any old price...but, when you have a one-off special, the short term pain of forging your own bridge (non-conformity) can result in major reward.

Perception may be everything for instant gratification, this is true of many players of "the game", but in the wash up, the facts always dictate the final score.

Problem is, it's often hard to be heard when the noise from the crowd and opposition alike is so great.
