why is everyone focused on same store sales growth?

any jackass company can get this so called 'holy grail' if they cut margins-then of course the same store sales go up.
what TRS is very good at is retaining profit margins.
so who gives a crap about new store openings if they think they can make the same profit in a new location.

ps- the only possible bugbear i can see is what SLC said about the extra 12 million hit to transition, which is not factored in results announcements . i myself am a bit more reserved in my approach about these possible extra costs.
