Eight,i don't believe its fair to describe opinions on the current accc roaming review as back ground noise and suggest 'a good business will ride through'.
It was the ceo and chairman that made it clear (not back ground noise) the serious threat this review posed to tls shareholders.ie as they suggested if declared then no incentive for tls to invest in order to differentiate their business from competitors ie to maintain a speed,coverage and capacity advantage.
Thodey threatened legal action if accc tried it.
Imo if roaming was declared tls shareholders would b holding a completely different business model ie less profitable,less competitive advantage if any,less attraction for domestic and global partners.
Imo tls has been given notice by the accc,at some stage roaming will b declared ie hopefully not 3rd review but maybe 4 th or 5th review etc and y imo tls needs to start diversifing into solid business models while tls still has the mobile and fixed competitive advantage and while tls still has the massive customer and marketing customer bases.
Thodeys ehealth hopefully is successfull and makes sense if its not to complicated for tls to run as it requires connectivity etc,but so does digital advertising and digital banking.3 solid business models going forward imo for tls to expand into and establish before their network is declared.
ps interesting trading today with no particularly bad news,what would/will happen when/if we r struck from a left field global event.
Still have my shopping list but imo prices will become cheaper.
ps an ex tls excecutive is ceo of eftpos,an ex tls executive is now ceo of tyro eftpos digital bank.Big4 fighting applepay trying to protect their credit card profits,wes and wow part owners of eftpos with big4. Seems to me the only name missing in above 'digital' eftpos/ banking is tls ie anz,wbc,nab,cba,wes,wow and should b tls imo.And i believe there is plenty of partner to b done between tls,wes and wow regarding the digital banking business model.
ps even in the philippines and indonesia tls has just purchased a business c88 involved in finance customer bank interaction.Tls needs to enter the real growth businesses while their young and require capital eg as previously posted.
