6 months ago I had road works alongside my house, painful.
Before they started they came in and photographed inside and outside incase we had any damages. 2 weeks of a massive compactor rolling up and down a few metres from our boundary and we noticed a gap appear(6mm) between wall and roof over 3 metres section with dust running down either side of this with smaller gaps. We rang straight away and the company said they would photograph at end.
Had to ring them to get some action on that as they finished and had no contact for over a month of that date.
Their building inspector said report would be two weeks, it took 6 weeks for us to receive their report.
Just usual wear and tear not their fault.
Should I ring them or my insurance company or go straight to a lawyer?
Has anyone else had this problem?
SOP for some companies is to say no straight up and see if the person has the spine to chase them up.
The building inspector said he had nothing to do with the road company but they were paying him so I don't have much trust in him.

Contact local Council
Contact the guy who did report and tell him you want his name and company details as you are going to the media and they want to interview him

Companies will walk over you and ignore you but scream blue murder and media and they pay to shut you up.
