The amount of suicides by financial traders that have suffered losses as a result of poor shareprice performance is significant to say the least. Would you argue that the CEO's are personally financial liable for compensation for each and every suicide?
Would you argue that a person who lost a wife or child should be allowed to breach the terms of a mortgage because of the emotional pain they suffered?
The question by the OP relates specifically to her bonus. On that matter an agreement was made and it needs to be honoured. On the matter of criminal liability, that's an entirely separate issue and one I don't think anyone can make an informed opinion on as we simply don't have enough information - yet.
