Not all work is equal. Some work may take more skill and training than other work, some jobs are far more stressful and demanding...so to pay everyone equally would not reflect the time, effort and study that some people have put into their career. So to pay them the same as someone who collects shopping trolley's - however essential that task may be - would be an injustice.
