"That's right. Effort should be rewarded. That's not to say that the exorbitant pay rates of CEO's, celebrities, sports figures, etc, is justified. Salaries should be capped at reasonable multiple of the average wage, as well as setting a reasonable minimum....significantly higher than it is now."

I'm waiting for the day when a genuine highly skilled CEO of a large public Company, stands up at a shareholders' meeting and declares he will only accept as remuneration a maximum 5 times the Company's employees' average wage and donate his share options and the rest to a fund to purchase shares in the company that can then be bought at a discount determined by their relative pay rate, by other employees.
He will of course later announce his resignation "to pursue other interests" ... and will end up on the dole since no one will give him a job.

Most business's with the exception of a few private companies, are run by self serving narcissist Management and boards that are an incestuous "mates" pig trough.
That's the good ones .. the others are run by sociopaths and psychopaths protected by "Corporate Lawyers".

The amazing thing about the "exorbitant pay rates of CEO's, celebrities, sports figures, etc, ..." is that this is accepted as OK by so many. The recipients themselves you can understand ... but why so much agreement from others ?

Apart from that it's all good ... but only if you understand and practice the biological necessity to engage with Nature on her terms.
To look for balance, wholesomeness and natural justice in Human society is a recipe for disillusionment.
