Hi Guys, I'm more a believer in what CBBC is saying, especially in cities where space will be at a premium. There apartment blocks and especially industries and commercial premises will use Lithium because it takes up less space.
Right now I'm taking up lithium on a farm for 2 main reasons, firstly they are cheaper for the same power and secondly the flow batteries I've read about need a maintenance cycle where you have to totally discharge them and fully charge them once a week or once a month to stop a zinc buildup or something like that.

The lithium ones are plug and play, so they are easier to use.
IMO if lithium keeps coming down in price, which is highly likely given the gigafactories starting in the next couple of years, then they could always stay a bit cheaper than flow batteries, and be the choice for most.

All IMO of course, but as megawatt scale lithium batteries are now being made by Siemens in Germany, that can be put together in up to 100MWh configurations, the flow batteries have some catching up to do!!

I also think that grid and offgrid storage by households, businesses and farms will be massive, to the point of being a larger user than vehicles of lithium batteries, again something most 'expert forecasters' do not understand, nor allow for.
Farms will need huge storage for the tractors when they turn electric, again something most don't understand.
