I tell you now if you get a good accountant
and do a bit of reading, you will never look back.

YES there are tax laws to abide by, which is fair as its your future the gov is trying to look after.
BUT the FREEDOM is great not only for shares but other investment vehicles as well.
I could go on, but I am still learning more and more after 4 years.

How could a super fund go backwards for 3 years
smack bang in the middle of the property boom.???
The part that really got by goat up is this.
These financial advisers get their 1,2,3,4,5% COMMISION on what you invest at the beginning of the year, even if it slips down during the year, and boom years at that.
It really gets me going what they get away with.
And its all legal.
