i’m just back from turkey. not much time atm to offer more disastrous tips to all my fans but at least 40 managed to pay his bills thro 06. my major 'got it wrong' so far, is that the market rallied after it's nasty may tumble and posted new highs. 40 didn't expect that, at all, but remains sidelined from a buying frenzy. continuing to keep 90% + liquid ....
the nzd is having a fit and heading for the stars against the jolly english pound and that cannot last ... or can it ? so got that wrong atm. but i’ll wait. even stevens on this one, for now, at least.
and finally, burnie will not let me have higher bond ylds. you buzzard burnie ! now its recession and lower rates or higher rates and the consumer squeeze. i'll go for the latter. still thinking that way. the recession, damn it, will follow.
40'll be in oz for 15th. is that a sign the markets will tumble on 16th, gann45 ? many things follow 40 to oz. once 40 brought floods to alice and on another occasion brought torrential rains to se qld after 12 mths of drought. 40’s coming. beware. things come down heavily when 40 arrives, well the rains did, eh ?
will my bearish fear of consumer debt bring common sense to all, and let me, as one of the few bears left, have a field day ? more on this another time. spoke to many on this from diffent parts of the world over xmas. car purchase over 7 yrs in singapore. 10 yrs in europe. it’s just stupid, bally stupid.
anyone noticed the optimism out there ? in a poll in 01, everyone said a big yr ahead and it wasn't. same has happened again. the poll says all expect 07 a big yr. nice contrarian stuff, isn't it ? 60 mths now of bull mkt ? record too. can it last ? no it can't ? when will it all end ? no one knows .... more patience needed, so remain cashed up.
i cannot, and will not, be pushed into a buying frenzy. the odd bit here and there but not much cash being used. something to keep the brain active. probably lose most of it anyway, if the mkts do get walloped.
on the ozzy front, teddy is now approaching singapore on a big container ship. he wouldn’t fly due to korean nukes and all that stuff. now the lil green bear is threatening to jump ship in singapore and become a muslim !!! i told him all about my travels to istanbul and a fab lil town called safranbolu. the best tukish delight’s made there too. teddy asked all about the turkish girls. say no more, he's ready to switch faith. must say his reaoning is pretty sound. for me though, the turkish delight would be enough lol.
but for 40 now, his faith in the markets failing, remains.
40andteddy will ‘blog it’ when we get time. it’s too iffy trying to put down all the changes onto the signature etc. all of this just for the credibility it will/will not, bring to 40 and his lil green bear, lol.
took 66% in just over a mth out of some TRFO. bgt @ 15 sold @ 25. ords unmoved. nice one eh ? thanks to gobs, 40 researched ‘party gaming’ in the uk and took a punt there too. looking ok atm. in there at 30.5p

ORO holds 30 million LEG. at 10 cents, that’s 3 million. ORO has 240mil shares on issue. it did have 1.6 million in cash but will have spent some by now. anyway, for ORO at 2.2c, it’s mkt cap is around 5.25 million. if there is most of the cash still in the kitty, say 1 million, then ORO is heading for a very cheap way into LEG. DON’T SAY YOU WEREN’T TOLD. LEG is moving. and it’s moving nicely atm. leg currently around the 9 cents mark.
40 owns a few oro. teddy owns a bundle. how else we gonna pay our fares to oz, eh ?
