To be able to stitch together a financing program for a merger/ aquisition of this magnitude for a cash stripped research company is never an easy task.
My only criticism towards financial management was the failure in negotations with the Canadians, enabling a Bergen contract allowing for loopholes.
Shareholders are rightly upset about the suppressed share price and I believe that there is more issuance on the way, which should be made public prior to the AGM.
Otherwise the AGM will see fruitless hostility with management being forced to reveal information which has to be first released through ASX announcements.
When people await the insto's arrival in this stock, they might want to dissect the Bergen, large shareholder numbers of shares and realise that instos have already moved in and are continuing to do so (Through Deutsche and Morgan ).
Several entities are becoming large shareholders for a reason, I believe.
This is now a long term play with parties accumulating enough percentages of the register to be part of a future acquisition.
A TO, in my humble opinion, 2 years down the track is a very strong likelihood.
Possibly, the sophisticated investor of future issuances or even Bergen might facilitate large percentages of the register through share swaps to those who wish to control a large enough percentage of the company.
Price only needs to hover at a price where Bergen makes enough profit through those swaps.
As a retail investor one might have to simply lean back and let this unfold as the company is undergoing the transition period from speculative to revenue based entity.
There is a reason why so few speccies ever make that transition. It is unlikely and a rare event, but extremely lucrative when it happens.
These larger players who wish to position themselves in an upcoming innovative industry sector will not allow retail market to have any significant say in the matter.
If shareholders are frustrated about this, it might be valuable to them to make themselves familiar with corporate methology.
In the long run, I would expect a catch up event for the share price when players have been fully positioned and let the share " loose".
Price could jump several hundret percentage points on such an event which might only takes weeks to conclude.
Until then, it is patience what is needed, in my opinion.
