Its because there is nothing after death that makes life so valuable. Enjoy every single moment.
There is very good reason the word "life" is cherished and the word "death" is lamented.
If you are fortunate in life, your death might not be lamented but its achievements and relationships will be celebrated by those that still enjoy it.
