"Still finding my way and joining the dots that the universe has provided
Not big on "faith" I'm afraid - prefer coming to my own conclusions .."

IMO you are fortunate to have arrived in the "final stretch" with a bit of experience of life ... but with still a number of deep and active questions about it's meaning.

As you say your "own conclusions" are very important so I'm assuming they have always been a reliable and fruitful source of understanding ... unlike most people.

My only suggestion is next time you are "taken up" for a Celestial joyride, instead of thrashing around with the others for a spectacular window seat, ask to visit the "inner Sanctum".
Contemplate what in you is purely a product of Earthly Mogga "life" and it's needs, hopes, wishes, requirements, views etc .. all those aspects that only have importance at this level of life.
What is left ? What is this famous "me" that will survive the death of "Mogga" ? In fact does it have anything at all to do with "Mogga" ?
It's not for nothing that even the Abrahamic Religions recognize that the separate parts of a Man will return to their source.
The temporary product of those parts ... AKA "Me" ... has absolutely no existence as such, beyond the separation.

It's only interested in sex, drugs and rock 'n roll .. and the share market and the neighbour's wife and helping the less fortunate and which non-entity will be the next US President etc.
