I agree with you that share price should not be the primary driver of compensation
Sort of conflicts with your statement that even if they moved earth on its axis, if it doesn't reflect in the performance of the shares it doesn't have your support. Sounds like from your perspective share price should be the primary driver.
I agree with your second statement that balance is needed.
