I really enjoyed the feedback and info provided on the thread, really helped me to extend my understanding of where APAS fits into the picture as well as confirm the capability of what I thought it would do.
I come from a metallurgical background where testing has slowly become more automated the last 10-15 years and is now getting to the point where most tests are automated to some degree and sometimes fully automated. I have seen the savings with my own eyes, going from 2-3 people each shift, 4 shifts, yearly was costing 1million + and that was simply 1 site.
Now we often have 1 person per shift and 2 shifts (dayshift only, on or off), and the cost is 1/5th of what it used to be for the same output.
