For fundamentals or medium term holders it doesn't matter, and the recent news has been positive

But credit where credit is due to the shorters for attack. According to the stats, they have been most of the selling for the last month, which is an amazing high percentage. Presumably most or much of the selling today too. Pushing the price down.
There hasn't been a lot of holders selling - while going down 40% from all time high.
The news about the CFO retiring today is ho-hum...and normally would be ignored...but in circumstances could be spun to mean anything on the rumour mill.
The objective the short attack is to demoralise holders and encourage them to sell - 'cos eventually the shorters have to buy it all back.
If I was shorting today, I would be trying to make it finish on the low for maximum demoralisation effect.
