A little off topic Moon but I agree with an earlier post of yours that
its not productive to get agitated over issues on this forum.
Every now and again when I allow something to get me worked up
I generally take stock and read something which helps me put things
into perspective. This afternoon I went for a stroll and had a re-read of
something I keep a copy of on my phone.
Its a statement by Matthew Joseph Thaddeus Stepanek a young
American poet, peace advocate and motivational speaker who passed
away before his 14th birthday in 2004.
His life philosophy was “remember to play after every storm and his motto
which I reflected on today was “Think gently, speak gently, live gently”.
For me today that was a very apt reminder.
Having mentioned that I think its best to give some info on Mattie Stepanek
and why I respect him an inspiring person.
Mattie suffered from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy that led to a short life.
He started writing poetry at the age of 3 to cope with the passing of an
older brother and produced six books of poetry and one of essays that all
reached the New York Times best seller list.
Today Mattie reminded me that instead of getting agitated I should
preferably think gently, speak gently and live gently. Not always easy to do
but whenever I think of his words it does bring things into perspective
for me.
Onya Mattie, still making an impact long after you passed.
