As you mention, this is a "great" announcement so it's hardly a P&D (I've seen plenty of those but never after significant price sensitive announcement that their key product is gaining commercial traction but we will see).
And I don't think they can "sit" on announcements (especially price sensitive information) as it will be deem as market manipulation by the ASX, if they need more time, they will need to request for a TH from the ASX, otherwise release it straight away, they likely only got the porting response from these chips manufacturers today midday and released it to the market.
