They got to get started on grade control drilling, blasting etc etc well before you need it, will take them a while to mobilise to site and take control of the magazine, etc set up maintenance workshops to their liking/needs etc etc - pretty sure Galaxy would have worked out the timing of all this in consultation with prospective contractors as part of the bidding.
